I was contacted a while ago by a gentleman asking if I was interested in creating a memorial painting as a wedding present for his fiancée. When I heard the story that the aim of the painting was to honor two family members who had passed away… her father and the couple’s stillborn son it tugged on my heart and I knew I had to take on the project. What made it even more touching for me was I started my “adventure” of dealing with my own Dad’s health issues…
Their wedding was on September 1st and I delivered the painting a couple of days before so he could give it to his fiancée as a wedding gift. When I delivered it to him, my client teared up… but, not as much as she did when she opened it!!! (see the reaction video here, note – it will open another window!). Per my client’s request too, I also created a framed print of the painting as it will be displayed in a prominent place during the wedding ceremony. The small world was when I ran into one of my friends, Eric, the Myrtle Beach Officiant after I delivered the painting and he said, “I didn’t know you did paintings like this!!” When I shared who my client was, he exclaimed, “I’m marrying them tomorrow! I’m excited to see the piece”
