03/22/2020Two months ago I was contacted by a gentleman who wanted to commission a painted portrait. I told him that we had experience doing that type of work and we would love to talk to him about his request. What we didn’t know was that the commission request was to create a painting of his fiancée who had recently passed away. BUT, it wasn’t just one painting—it was two! One piece was to be of her with a depiction of her parent’s restaurant in the background, the other piece was of the two of them standing by a Shintu arch in Japan.
The challenge for us in creating these pieces was the source images we were given to work from were small & low resolution. They were photos taken on a cellphone. As usual, it took both GC’s & my photography & artistic skills to pull off two paintings that when we presented them to our client, literally brought him to tears. We love doing what we do & bringing our client’s vision to life—especially when it comes to creating an heirloom piece of art that will be cherished by a family for a lifetime. Thank you Jesse for trusting us with a cherished project.
